40

Today--Monday, January 19th 2008--is my 40th birthday.
A few things in more or less free form order.

40. I never had any idea that I'd STILL be living w/ my dad at 40
39. I can't/don't ride a bike.
38. I have a disability that effects coordination. That's partially why I don't/can't ride a bike.
37. My college major was business.
36. My college minor was speech.
35.
I took speech in high school because I had a medical excuse out of PE.
34. When I was in 4th grade at W.B. Goodwin Elementary on Dorchester RD in North Charleston SC my teacher was a man, named Mr. Schantz [spelling]
33. Mr. Schantz gave us a chance to do public speaking every Friday after recess, in what he called "sharing time"
32. I am a member of Toastmasters International.
31. I have around 20 trophies from public speaking competitions.

30. As a result of 36-31, I LOVE PUBLIC SPEAKING
29. I work with special needs kids at my church
28. I have a blog about those kids
27. As of this posting, my church is in the middle of a series about questions we'd ask God.
26. My main question would be: "Lord, who do You say I am"
25. I am adopted.
24. I love being adopted because it means that I was chosen.
23. I often feel like I am missing something b/c I live at home
22....and because I am single
21....and because I am unemployed [as of this posting]
20....and because I can't seem to meet anyone special

19. I am NOT missing out because no matter what, I am fearfully and wonderfully made
18. I have learned more from the kids at church, than I have taught them....
17....Michael loves to play catch but doesn't care if either you or he misses the ball; he just loves to play the game.
16...Michael taught me that it's all in the fact that you play, winning is not what it's all about.
15. Whenever, Micheal’s mom forgets to kiss him bye. He runs to the door w/ his lips puckered.
14...Michael has also taught me that you gotta love others.
13. Blake plays a toy piano
12. Blake taught me that we all have a gift to offer.
11. Nathan likes to "dance" to music only he seems to hear.
10. Nathan taught me that you have to "dance" to your own music
09. Grace loves everyone in the room.
08. Grace taught me what the grace of God really means.

07. I have a large, extended family.
06. They drive me nuts sometimes, but I love them
05. Mom taught me to laugh
04. Dad taught me to be responsible
03. My sister taught me to protect others, like she did for me.
02. My niece reminds me that even kids matter.
01. Everyone has taught me that everyone else matters.
